bsnes-plus
A nice fork of bsnes offering more debugging options by Revenant. We worked together to offer the best Satellaview emulation possible!
Basic Information:
- To play Satellaview Content:
Use Load Special -> Load BS-X Cartridge... - To play SFC games with Memory Pack support:
Use Load Special -> Load BS-X Slotted Cartridge... - Memory Pack changes are not saved automatically, you need to use File -> Save Memory Pack...
- bsxdat folder contains Satellaview Broadcast Files. Satellaview expansion needs to be enabled to work.
- You can change the Satellaview Time & Date in the settings to either use the current time or start with a specific time setup (recommended).
SNES9X
As of version 1.55, SNES9X now officially supports Satellaview properly.
Basic Information:
- To play Satellaview Content:
Copy BS-X ROM into BIOS folder (may need to create one) as BS-X.bin and load a Satellaview Memory Pack dump with Load Game. BS-X will start automatically. - To play SFC games with Memory Pack support (also works with BS-X):
Use File -> Load MultiCart... and put the main game in Slot A and the Memory Pack dump in Slot B. - Memory Pack changes are not saved automatically, you need to use Save Other -> Save Memory Pack.
- (Optional) You can put Satellaview Broadcast Files in a folder named SatData (can be changed in the settings).
- Satellaview Time & Date are based on current time.
Mesen-S
Fairly feature complete SNES emulator by Sour, unfortunately discontinued as of 2020. It is however still a pretty robust emulator for your needs.
Basic Information:
- To play Satellaview Content:
Load a Memory Pack dump like a regular SNES game (*.bs files are compatible but not recognized by the menu, put All files). It will ask for the BS-X BIOS ROM if it is not set up. - It includes a default Satellaview Broadcast Files in a folder named Satellaview, which can be replaced.
- You can change the Satellaview Time & Date in the settings to either use the current time or start with a specific time setup (recommended). It can be set in Options -> Emulation, then BS-X tab.
